The Premium uses a similar cabinet design as the Pro with some extra colour accents, different backbox side art, all combined with the playfield from the Limited Edition. On the Premium and LE models it can also move across the playfield like the Scarecrow bash-ball in Batman.Īll models also feature a triple Newton ball mechanism at the Public Library area of the playfield.Īs you would expect, the Premium and Limited Edition models add several extra playfield and trim features. While the display is monochromatic, the playfield artwork is a veritable riot of colour, with purple a predominant theme but no part of the colour spectrum unrepresented.Īll models feature a rotating illuminated Slimer which is suspended over the playfield. You can see that Ghostbusters continues to use the traditional red LED dot-matrix display rather than an LCD panel which it was originally thought might premiere with this title. The Pro cabinet features the team's iconic ECTO-1 vehicle The translites in the Pro, Premium and LE are very similar, but do have a few changes, especially on the right side.

Ghostbusters is a John Trudeau design, with artwork by Jeremy Packer who goes under the name Zombie Yeti and who created much of the artwork for John Popadiuk's ill-fated Magic Girl project.Īs you can see, the game is based on the 1984 original movie and the 1989 sequel featuring Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver, rather than the upcoming reboot which features an all-female lead. However, today Stern Pinball released pictures of the Pro, Premium and Limited Edition models to much acclaim. Whatever happens in the future, this movie made its work so right and so enjoyable (with a truly emotional ending in which I cried) and that's all that matters. It may not have exactly been much of secret that Stern's next game was going to be Ghostbusters, and the backglass artwork and snippets of the playfield design may have been leaked several weeks ago. If the story ends here, it is the best finale they ever could have pulled off. The CGI is good, the soundtrack is on point and the script never dragged to me. Finally we go back to some terror and some suspenseful sequences that harck back to that so damn missed old style from the eighties. The characters were much, much better than I expected thanks to great and compelling performances. But not just that peak: the movie has several peaks. The plot hasn't been revealed too much because of a key reason and even if someone has been sadly spoiled, when that part occurs in silver screen is just downright marvelous. I'll tell you this: watch this movie! It is a heartfelt, coherent and fun story that pays respect to its roots and moves forward the saga on a loving way. I had no hype for this one (mostly because of the trainwreck that out-of-place-2010's movie), but I felt somewhat compelled to give the benefit of the doubt and realise if my fears were right or wrong. Let's forget that embarrassing awful movie that took place in the 2010's and finally focus on this one: THE TRUEST THIRD MOVIE OF 'GHOSTBUSTERS'. The second one gets critized sometimes but I think it's as good as the first. The first 'Ghostbusters' is one of the most beloved movies of my childhood.
